Vegan Travel Guide to Brighton

If you are vegan, vegetarian, or just love eating (who doesn't?!), you should pay a visit to the hip foodie town that is Brighton, England. There is a seemingly endless amount of vegan food in this city. You can find vegan meals at almost every restaurant, cafe or pub. And I'm not talking nuts and crisps, I'm talking cheeseburgers, pizzas, hot dogs, BLTs, ice cream, nachos, even the classic fish and chips and full English breakfast! So, now that our mouths are watering, let's get to it. Here are some of my fav vegan eats!

103 North Rd

Local branch of vegan and vegetarian fine dining restaurant with a distinctly hip, trendy vibe. Innovative restaurant design composed of 3 levels complete with a beautiful spiral staircase, and their own cocktail bar, Dandelion, on the bottom floor, concocting custom botanically-infused drinks. The Almond Tree

109C Dyke Rd

Located in Seven Dials, this unique cute little neighborhood spot is locally famous for breakfast and lunch. They also do great juices and excellent coffee. Their vegan BLT is amazing. These people know how to do tempeh! Worth the hill! More.

A cozy eatery in the North Laines, with a cafeteria-style selection of local, organic and vegetarian foods. Does English breakfasts, tofu scrambles, pancakes. Also has lots of prepackaged items like wraps and drinks you can grab and go.

Iydea

A cafeteria-style selection of locally sourced nutritious meals await you at Iydea. Their menu changes daily so you're always in for a surprise. Their freshly-made juices are delicious. More

The Loving Hut

Part of an international vegan chain, The Loving Hut has 2 locations in Brighton, The Level and the North Laines. They're well-known for vegan comfort food galore done well. Find cheeseburgers, fish sandwiches, wraps, hot dogs, cakes and soft serve ice cream. Also sells vegan products. More.

40 Western Rd Hove

Authentic Italian pizzeria in Hove that boasts a huge menu of vegan and vegetarian pizzas, including 2 types of vegan mozzarella cheeses and mock meats from Vbites. Very interesting and romantic dining room in the basement of the restaurant. Also offers local delivery, with wine! More.

Pizza Me

8 Elm Grove

Pizza Me does vegan pizza amazingly. They have great tasty, stringy, melty, vegan cheese. Really delicious, authentic Italian dough and pizza. Two thumbs up. Go to the shop and get a slice or a pie, or order your pie online via the good folks over at Just Eat. More.

Pizza joint that does a killer vegan pizza with vegan meats like pepperoni, sausage and chorizo. With locations in Hove, Kemptown and Worthing, they also deliver, and you can also find their pizzas cooked to order at local pubs such and movie theaters around town, too! More.

100% vegan pizza cafe that also does breakfast, including yogurt, sandwiches, salads and ice cream. Really tasty pizza with the perfect vegan cheese. Try the Monete for a classic Italian favorite with delicious setain medallions. Gluten-free options. Also available for delivery via Deliveroo. More.

Themed classically vintage 1950's diner restaurant that has tons of vegan selections like full English breakfasts, American breakfasts, pancake stacks, bacon, burgers, hot dogs and milkshakes.

Rootcandi

Living in the cozy upstairs dining room of Iydea in Hove, Rootcandi is the UK's first 100% vegan tapas restaurant. They offer various meticulously arranged tapas platters served in beautiful custom-designed tiered displays. Both innovative and beautiful food in an intimate and cozy atmosphere. More.

Terre à Terre

71 East St

Definitely the most interesting, original and inventive presentations I have ever seen on a plate, this food is both refreshing and delicious. Definitely a worldly-inspired menu, the food ranges from pan-asian tapas to creamed pea puree. Pretty to look at and fun to eat. Also sells own products in store. More.

Vbites

14 East St

100% vegan cafe with burgers, fish, nachos, hot dogs, BBQ chicken and more. Part of the Vbites mock meat brand. Cafe also has a small shop where you can buy vegan products, meats, sauces and drinks. Certified by the Vegan Society. I think the Elvis Burger is my all-time favorite. More.

Totally awesome 100% vegan comfort foods like southern fried chicken, bagels with smoked 'salmon', and classic burgers, all in the funky Marlborough Pub and Theatre.

Wai Kika Moo Kau

11A Kensington Gardens

A.k.a.: "Why Kick a Moo Cow". Another one of my favorite go-to spots in the North Laines, this place has a comfy cozy and chill atmosphere. They do great food, including a killer vegan English breakfast, and always have a big selection of vegan cakes and treats. Awesome soy lattes. More.

A chic, rustic organic grocery, bakery and deli shop with amazing daily house-made vegan offerings like salads, lasagnas and brownies. Lost of fresh baked goods and cruelty-free kitchen and home products.
