One of my all-time favorite restaurants in Portland is a.n.d cafe.
Everything they make is amazingly delicious. They do my favorites, breakfast and lunch, they have perfected all the classic comfort foods, and they also invent creations of special vegan goodness.
Just a little bit down Portland's ultra hip Burnside Street, a.n.d (aka Ashley and Dan) has a sweet little corner spot offering a casual and cozy dining room adorned with fresh plants and local artwork for sale. Dine inside at a table, hop a seat along the bar, or snag one of the outdoor tables.
Amazing breakfast goodies include waffles, benedicts, hot nests, biscuits and gravy, burritos, poutine hash and quesadillas. The pumpkin cheesecake waffle is spectacular, the poutine hash is also pretty darn amazing, and the benedict with vegan hollandaise sauce is out of this world.
Lunch noms include a reuben (quite possibly the best vegan reuben in town), grilled cheese, meatloaf wrap, buffalo cauliflower wrap, bowls, and freshly made soups.
They have good brunchy drinks like fresh juices, teas, coffee, and kombucha, and also rad boozy drinks like mimosas and bloody marys, even a morning margarita! Woot!
Check out the most delicious thing in the world I recently had: a vegan bacon quesadilla! Made with tofu sautéed with kale and red peppers, jackfruit bacon, mozzarella cheese, avocado and served with arugula, jalapeños, and sour cream.
Creamy, savory and delightful. The jackfruit really packs a super tasty bacon flavor. The whole things tastes just like a bacon and egg breakfast burrito.
What's the green drink? It's called a green peace - matcha green tea, lemonade and natural agave to sweeten. Perfectly crisp and refreshing enough to wash down the spicy eats!
