On a recent trip to Cardiff, Wales, I got to stop in to a very interestingly unique spot called The Moos, a plant based cafe that has vegan grab and go snacks, treats, coffees, juices, and more.
the moos juice bar
The Moos has a wide variety of delicious drinks to choose from, everything from teas and coffees to fresh juice blends and smoothies.
There's fun juiced inventions like Spicy Sunshine, Beet It and Happy Carrot. Try appetizing smoothie combos like Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate Thunder, or Lemon Tart. Yum!
Heads up, I was provided my meal in exchange for my review.
power plant smoothie
I'm such a sucker for green, so the Power Plant smoothie definitely popped out at me. It was a dazzling bright green concoction of fresh apples, avocados, cucumbers, dates, kale, spinach, and some spirulina, flax seed and hemp to pack quite a nutritional and superfood punch!
The Moos has lots of delectable breakfast, lunch and dinner noms to choose from. There are daily freshly made soups, salads, bowls, desserts, and ready to go meals like a sweet potato falafel wrap, vegan sausage sandwich, and then the paninis - roasted veg and hummus, pesto and mozzarella, and bbq steak!
bbq steak panini
I was eyeballing the very good looking vegan bbq steak panini sandwich. Very wisely advised to order it toasted, I knew was in for some warm yummy panini goodness.
Made with their own very tasty homemade seitan, some green spinach, red pepper, onions, pickle slices, and their own vegan garlic mayonnaise and then, of course, barbecue sauce to top it all off. Sweet, savory, tangy, vividly flavorful and perfectly filling.
And that's not all, there's a variety of sweet treats like cookies and cakes to eat in or take to go as well. Vegan raw cheesecakes, snickers, chocolate cake, cookies and more. Sweet tooths rejoice!
