Finding incredible vegan food in Taiwan is always an adventure, but discovering a fully plant-based cafe tucked away in Taipei's historic Datong District is a true jackpot.
On a recent stroll down the beautiful, old-timey Dihua Street, I stumbled upon KONEKO Vegan Coffee, a charming spot that instantly stands out for its cozy vibes and compassionate ethics.
If you are hunting for the best vegan cafe in Taipei that serves up decadent dairy-free desserts and artisanal drinks, this hidden gem deserves a top spot on your Taiwan itinerary!
Step inside, and you are greeted by an aesthetically pleasing, minimalist interior that feels incredibly peaceful.
You might even get to spot the adorable cat—a sweet little supervisor that perfectly matches the cafe's name, as koneko translates to "kitten" in Japanese.
The cafe’s ethos is proudly displayed on a sign reading "Let Vegan Connect Everything," beautifully tying together their love for animals and community.
The welcoming menu is a thoughtfully curated selection of fully plant-based drinks and eats.
They serve specialty drinks like matcha oat lattes and honeycomb toffee lattes alongside delicious vegan treats including caramel cheesecakes, flan, and warm cinnamon rolls.
I just had to treat myself to a slice of their signature vegan cheesecake.
Because I'm pretty sure the rule is—always get the cheesecake!
The cheesecake was an absolute dream—rich, velvety smooth, and no heavy coconut or soy aftertaste.
Creamy coffee, creamy cake.... pure deliciousness!
If you're in Taipei, definitely go check it out at No. 362, Sec. 1, Dihua St, Datong.
Whether you are a lifelong vegan or just a foodie exploring Taipei, KONEKO offers a beautiful space to slow down, indulge guilt-free, and connect!
And go check out SYOSyoHOUBou right next door for some savory dishes!
